Dear John

I just wanted to take a minute to give you a shout out!  You are awesome!  Thank you so much for your comments.  They have really and truly helped me.  I can’t even tell you how much you reaching out to help has meant to me.  I hope that we can learn from each other.  Can you send me a friend request on facebook?  I tried to find you but don’t have any info about you.  Hugs to you friend!

Surprise! I didn't fall into the blog black hole!

I know you’ve been wondering, but yes I am still alive and kicking in the Raw Food World.  Sorry that I haven’t been around.  I have been busy with the holidays, and going back to work, and I went through a short spot of depression too.  I’ll try to be more consistent from here on out.  I thought about my blog a lot and missed it, but just couldn’t seem to find the “oomph” to get er done.

I’ve been eating between 50%-100% raw depending on the day.  I tried to start juicing and intended to do a week long juice feast, but dang…that’s hard work!  I spent 3 hours washing produce and was then too tired/aggravated/overwhelmed to make much juice.  I ordered a new juicer, and I think that will help.  Also, since I don’t have organic fruit/veggies near where I live, I went to Whole Foods an hour and a half away and bought enough produce to make 6 days of juice.  You would not BELIEVE how much stuff this was.  I emptied my entire refrigerator and had to STUFF the fruits and veggies in.  It was unbelievable how full it was.  Hence the 3 hours of washing the produce.  I was (as usual) an over achiever.  So, I’ve decided now that I won’t buy more than 2 days of produce and fruit, and I’ll just have to go with the non-organic stuff that I can get here.  The juice that I did make was surprisingly tasty.  I plan to make more today, but I definitely won’t be doing a juice feast for any extended period of time.

I still haven’t quite figured out the ratio for this percentage of raw thing.  I am just doing what feels right…avoiding meat and dairy…eating a little seafood here and there.  But still eating all my veggies and fruits raw.  I felt so much better when I was eating 100% raw, but I feel pretty good now.  And I know that I will get to a steady level of high raw 90-100%, but I’m going to stretch out that process so that I can maintain it.  I’m in this for the long term.

Oh!  I almost forgot to tell you guys.  My dad watched all the raw food movies, and now he wants to try it and see if he can cure his diabetes.  I’m so happy.  He’s been diabetic for like 24 years now…I can’t imagine how much his life would change if he didn’t have to take shots every day!
